this kissing doves ice sculpture design uses a relatively small amount of ice but is still a nice design for weddings or similar events.

a small kissing doves ice sculpture design
This half block kissing doves ise sculpture design was originally published in a newsletter sometime in 1999. Here’s the text from the original design:
Kissing Doves
by Dawson List, New Orleans, Louisiana
These doves appeared in a design earlier this year as part of a heart and doves piece. Here the doves stand alone and are larger, almost 30 inches tall. This sculpture requires only a 40”x20”x5” piece of ice. However, an additional base (not shown) should be welded on for extra stability. The tops of the wings must also be welded on. Cut both wing tops from one piece of ice.
if at possible, the wings should be welded on using the aluminum welding method for strength and low visibility.
random dove encounter
Oddly, while I was updating dove design posts today (and dragon ones too, since I was in the “D’s”), I found a mourning dove just sitting on the ground outside. He seemed alert, so I left him (or her) alone for a bit, but went to check on wildlife rescue in the area in case I needed to do something. When I came back, either he got eaten by a cat (kidding 😜) or he was ok, since he was gone. Incidentally, I’ll take a dove encounter over a dragon one any day 😉
But his coincidental appearance certainly made me stop and think while I was working on dove designs and this kissing doves ice sculpture design in particular. If this post got you thinking about doves too, here are some dove facts.
