a single block version of the standard bride and groom ice sculpture design. By the way, carving the groom’s bowtie sux!
updated 7/5/23 with primarily seo stuff and disparaging comments. But what REALLY needs to happen is a redesign 🤮
my slightly awful bride and groom ice sculpture
This is a basic bride and groom design that I’ve used a number of times. Aside from the facial features, the toughest aspect of this piece is carving the surfaces between the bride and groom. It’s hard to get at them with the arms in the way. Long handled and narrow ice chisels are very useful here; power tools, not so much.
And you may have run into some of my commentary where I talked about some of my ice sculpture designs that suck, but that I’ll tolerate their presence at least until I get time to redesign them? Yeah, this bride and groom ice sculpture design is definitely one of them! Although I was fine with this design 20 years ago, now I think it sucks a**.

it’s not something I can really get into with this post, but a lot of times, an ice block isn’t thick enough for a design like this. However, you can add ice to their shoulders to make the block thicker and their shoulders therefore wider. Mainly, this is a thing for the groom, of course. When I finally get around to a redesign, I’ll move her hands away from his shoulders to make this adjustment easier.
