peaceful angel ice sculpture design

a nice design for the holiday season

angel ice sculpture design

using this angel ice sculpture design gives you a pretty tall piece, because the wingtips are welded on top

the original post was very brief

updated quite a bit 4/5/23

Pretty much all the original post on ice carving secrets said was:

This will be the last holiday design for a while. I’ve carved this piece, but I didn’t like the photo. The next time I carve it, I’ll try and get a better one. The wing top piece is split and added to the top of both wings. Happy Holidays!

carefully cut the wingtip section out and then split it. Because the angel figure is delicate, the wings need to be pretty delicate also, since the body supports them. This isn’t a super durable design.

talking a bit more about angel ice sculptures

I’ve sculpted the design in this post once so far, but I’ve sculpted numerous other angels along the way. I created my oversized version of the archangel Gabriel in Germany years ago. I even made an angel at home back in New Mexico so that people could see it as they drove through the neighborhood.

I expect to add other angel designs later

My praying angel (just below) is a great design candidate for later on down the line. It’s a more durable design with big folded wings that makes for a nice presentation. The angel ice sculpture I made for a demo in Missouri, on the other hand, probably won’t become a design.

for some reason, I thought bright yellow gloves were a good idea 🤦‍♂️

but wait, there's more!

Well, there’s not more about angels, but there’s certainly a bunch more ice sculpture designs to check out on the design page, including more holiday designs. As always, if you decide to use any designs, I hope you’ll check out the design usage guidelines. Happy Holidays! (I’m assuming it’s the holidays anyway, since you’re reading about angel ice sculptures…)
