weighty anchor ice sculpture design

anchor ice sculpture design

I’ve gotten good use out of this anchor ice sculpture design. But I did add another anchor (sort of 🤪) in the post below  that I’ve only sculpted once…

this is a pretty useful anchor ice sculpture design

I’ve done this anchor ice sculpture a number of times; it’s great for any event with a nautical theme. To get a wider anchor, the top is welded on. You can use a half block slab for this piece, but it should be a little thick, at least 5”, so that you have enough ice for the rope. If you really want to take it all the way, you could weld additional small pieces of ice on the front and back of the rope for more depth. As for the base, maybe give it some watery details, if you like.

ice portrait of Will Ferrell, from when he was Bacchus at Mardi Gras

wait, why is there an ice portrait of Will Ferrell in a post about an anchor ice sculpture!? See below…

a different kind of anchor ice sculpture

As much as I like the anchor design in this post, it’s not the most awesome anchor I’ve ever sculpted. That would have to be the real life alter-ego of news anchor Ron Burgundy, from Anchorman! Will Ferrell reigned as Bacchus during Mardi Gras a while back, and I got to make an ice portrait of him for a welcome party on a riverboat. Sadly, I couldn’t include Ron’s mustache in the portrait 😤
