About this massive photo dump π© I don’t even really remember exactly when/where this pic is from. Obviously, it’s from a Grinch ice display at a Gaylord Hotel. Other than that, I don’t know at the moment. It might also be in one of the MANY new photo galleries that I’m currently adding/modifying. So that’s helpful, right?
last updated 2/14/24 with new links to new pics; leaving it to you to figure out what ones. Also though, the photo dump is PAUSED, since I’ve made it to 40 galleries (see below). So now I’m going to work on the galleries I’ve added so far before I resume adding another 20+ galleries.
wtf? what do you mean, massive photo dump? π©
So here’s what’s going on. I have a LOT of ice sculpture photos just sitting in my cloud and in the old version of this site. Basically, rather than let them rain down and cause chaos at some undetermined date, I’m selectively dumping them into photo galleries big and small while providing you with almost ZERO context for the pictures π€£
Several galleries that are part of the massive photo dump have to do with some recent travels that I got to do. I did a super fast swing through the southern U.S. and saw some large ice displays. I also did a jaunt around Europe before and after a seminar that I took and I surprised myself a bit as too how much I fit in.
Other galleries in the massive photo dump were part of the old ice carving secrets site. You might notice that sometimes these pics are littler. These galleries are easier to add and it’ll be simpler to add all the info to them. But it’s SUPER boring to cut and paste all the old info from the old site, lol.
Finally, there are also a lot of galleries that I always thought I’d add to the site, at some point. (Like a GOT ice hotel experience!) However, much of this got put on hold when the old site fell apart. I had all these pics and experiences, and no place to post them, unless I wanted to add them to my Facebook or IG or something. But those options are kind of limiting.
Dmitry Klimenko made this amazing ice sculpture of Izanami, a Japanese diety. It’s in the new Zwolle gallery. (btw, THIS event is one of the few things in the post that’s still unmelted ice, at least until February 25, so check it out!) But remember, at least until I pause the massive photo dump project, it’s pretty much just pics with no context. For a little more context on this particular piece, check out my new 10 best ice sculptures post.
I’ve finally added a gallery (mostly pics; few details so far) for one of my favorite ice displays ever: SpongeBob SquarePants!
how quickly will this happen?
Eventually, I’ll add all the relevant info, but it might not be soon. So look at these *new* (some are pretty OLD) galleries at your own risk and I assume no liability for whatever confusion may result. I’m adding a list below and I’ll even add some random pics from said galleries. If you’re good, I might even add some videos to further confuse the issue.
So, best of luck! π€ͺ
Here are all the potentially confusing links for you to check out, as well as additional unlinked words that might allude to other galleries that may or may not come on line shortly π€·ββοΈ Hopefully, I’ll get all the clarifying info added before I die in a horrible can opener gone wrong incident β οΈπ©

Incidentally, I’ve decided on a rather specific course of action for the massive photo dump. I’ve made it to 40 galleries (up from 14), so I’m going to pause adding more pics and go back and add a lot of info to the pics and galleries so that you, google, and my seo checker are all much happier.
If I don’t take this approach, I’m afraid it’ll get too crazy, since I’ve already added hundreds of pics. And plus, I forget stuff π Then once that’s I’ve added some context to all those, I’ll resume the dump and try to get to 60 galleries. (or beyond?)
As you can see above, there are enough unlinked galleries to get almost to 60 as it is. To make it to 60 and beyond, I’ll probably just have to scroll through my phone photos and find a few ice things I’ve forgotten I’d seen. Either that, or hit up some more of my ice sculpting friends for pics of their ice art and crazy ice experiences.
my manta ray ice sculpture from one of the newly added (readded actually) galleries. But no promises as to whether or not the gallery has anything more than pics at the moment.
Chris Swarbrick probably had a headache after this visit to Frost ice bar in Boston…

You could also find photos and info related to the massive photo dump on the ice sculpting secrets Instagram account or the facebook page. ice sculpting secrets is also on TikTok, although videos there aren’t really tied to posts as much. You can comment on IG and fb as well as below. And if it won’t LET you comment below, then definitely comment on fb and/or IG. Thanks!
